Russian ATR operation cleared
ATR has obtained Russia’s IAC approval for the ATR 42-600 and ATR 72-600 to operate in Russia and the CIS. IAC’s certification validates all the major developments of the ATR -600 series, namely the new avionics suite with the full-glass cockpit.
The 70-seat ATR 72-600 and the 50-seat ATR 42-600 already received certification from European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in May 2011 and June 2012 respectively. To validate the EASA certification of the ATR -600s for operation in Russia and the CIS countries, IAC said it had examined the new ATR -600’s glass cockpit technical characteristics and was "fully satisfied with its performances and safety".
