Curtiss-Wright wins US$86 million aerospace instrumentation contract at Edwards Air Force Base

Engineering firm Curtiss-Wright has been awarded a five-year contract worth US$86m by Edwards Air Force Base in California to provide aerospace instrumentation for the High Speed Data Acquisition System (HSDAS) program at its Air Force Test Center.

Under the agreement, Curtiss-Wright is providing Edwards Air Force Base (AFB) with high-speed data acquisition systems (HSDAS), network switches, recorders, telemetry systems, and ground station systems. The contract provides products, enhancement/upgrade, repair services, field service, and technical support to the HSDAS equipment.

David C Adams, chairman and CEO of Curtiss-Wright, said, “This contract reflects the largest award received by our Teletronics Technology Corporation acquisition since joining Curtiss-Wright in early 2017, and is a strong example of our long-standing relationships and continued support of critical US flight test center platforms.

“Further, it reinforces our commitment to providing the most advanced and reliable integrated high-speed flight test instrumentation systems.”

Curtiss-Wright is developing the instrumentation at its Teletronics facility in Newtown, Pennsylvania, a business unit of Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division within the Defense segment. Engineering and manufacturing has commenced and will continue through 2022.

The company’s previously completed IDIQ contract on the HSDAS program was valued at US$73, over US$71m of which was exercised.
