Key Account Manager (Aerospace/Defence) – Brüel & Kjær UK

Royston, UK

To continue its growth, Brüel & Kjaer’s Aerospace and Defence Business is seeking a well experienced technology driven sales professional to manage and accelerate growth of its key markets in the UK. The position will be either home based or at Brüel & Kjaer’s main office in Royston, UK.

Candidates will be considered on the basis not only of their competences and experience, but also their desire, determination, motivation and ability to learn and develop.

The ability to learn new skills, manage work in a changing environment, and always with a positive mindset and attitude, are of equal importance. Brüel & Kjaer is committed to the continued professional development of its employees.
 
Experience in the following market and application is essential:
• Aerospace, Space and Defence (customers, technologies, challenges, processes).
 
Knowledge and understanding of one of the following applications would be beneficial:
• Sound and vibration measurement and analysis solutions.
• Test and measurement.
• Vibration testing.
 
Primary responsibilities
You will be part of the global Aerospace and Defence sales team which counts 10 colleagues worldwide. You will work closely with many functions in Brüel & Kjaer and your touchpoints will be spread around the world.
 
You will be responsible for an array of tasks:
• Managing and growing the assigned key accounts.
• Identifying current and future customer programs which fits to Brüel & Kjaer’s strategy.
• Qualifying and determining customer business needs and challenges.
• Developing, preparing and following up contracts and opportunities.
• Developing and maintaining close customer intimacy and network.
• Developing Brüel & Kjaer’s market share.
• Promoting products and solutions to the market.
• Teamworking with customers, partners and other Brüel & Kjaer departments.
 
Professional qualifications
• Proven track record on complex sales and technical environment.
• Key account management experience.
• Strategic selling methodologies (benefits/values/Miller Heiman).
•  Good IT knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM).
• Experience in working in an international environment.
• Engineering degree preferred (mechanics, structural dynamics, acoustics,..).
• Existing good professional customer network in target market.
 
Personal skills
• Ability to learn and apply or existing knowledge in: acoustic and/or vibration solutions and applications.
• Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
•  Good commercial understanding.
• Strong self-organisational and planning skills.
• Ability to work in multi-discipline and international teams.
• Willing and able to travel for customer visits on a weekly basis.
• Additional European language proficiency would be beneficial.
