Workshop Supervisor

Toulouse, France

Element has an opportunity for a Workshop Supervisor to join its growing team in Toulouse. In this role you will have day to day responsibility for all aspects of the machine Shop operations.


Responsibilities:
• Liaising on a daily basis with the workshop staff with regards to equipment planning and resource
• Training and mentoring all staff under your control
• Developing CNC programmes for all machining types (Milling, grinding & turning)
• Managing production through the workshop
• Ensuring an adequate supply of consumables for the facility
• Establishing and managing a preventative maintenance programme for equipment
• Establishing and managing a calibration programme for equipment
• Maximising test piece production without compromising quality
• Manufacturing jigs and fixtures as and when required
• Producing AutoCAD drawings as and when required
• Managing sub-contracted machining
• Recording and managing attendance/performance of employees under your control
• Assisting with the appraisals of your team
• Allocating the appropriate resource in conjunction with the Production Manager
• Ensuring that LIMS worksheets are filled out correctly and in accordance with internal procedures
• Implementing ISO/IEC 17025 and Nadcap requirements


Skills & Qualifications:
• Good, general education including English and Maths
• An engineering qualification
• The ability to programme CNC equipment is essential
• Broad knowledge of the machining of Engineering materials and their properties as well as an understanding of the main theories, concepts and principles of relevant processes and practices
• A Management qualification or training in supervisory management is advantageous for this role as is previous Machine Shop management experience
• A professional individual with a Technical background
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to motivate and oversee a busy team within a technical environment
• Strong problem solving skills and organisation skills
• Microsoft Office skills are also required, including Word and Excel
