dSPACE has introduced XSG Power Electronics Systems, simulation software designed to develop and test high-speed power electronics used in e-mobility, aviation, aerospace, and railway applications.
XSG Power Electronics Systems (XSG PES) enables the real-time simulation of highly dynamic switching frequencies of up to 500kHz to support engineers in designing advanced energy systems with increased precision.
XSG PES provides a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation environment with a library of preconfigured power electronics models, allowing engineers to create simulations efficiently. “With XSG Power Electronics Systems, we support the development of the most advanced power converters, which are becoming ever smaller, faster, and more powerful,” said Julian Saele, product manager e-mobility at dSPACE.
The software supports high-frequency circuitry simulation based on wide-bandgap semiconductors such as silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN). It also enables fault simulation in semiconductors and circuit designs, allowing engineers to test thermal overload and arcing conditions under controlled and reproducible conditions.
Designed for seamless integration, XSG PES features a user-friendly interface and a library that aligns with the look and feel of other dSPACE tools. This compatibility simplifies implementation within existing workflows, supporting efficient testing and validation of dynamic energy systems.
With XSG Power Electronics Systems (XSG PES), dSPACE is one of the first suppliers worldwide to offer simulation software that supports the simulation of highly dynamic switching frequencies of up to 500kHz.
