Boeing’s 737 MAX, which is currently inflight testing, has visited Edwards Air Force Base in California for a series of touch-and-go landings. The commercial aviation industry is occasionally given the opportunity to conduct flight tests at Edwards, which is an advantage because the base offers unique testing assets such as multiple runways, a controlled airspace, large dry lakebeds and normally favorable flying weather.
While Boeing has recently been conducting flight tests with its fourth-generation, narrow-body 737 at Edwards, the 787 Dreamliner was also tested there.
