Element Materials Technology continues to demonstrate its position as a leading provider of aerospace and defense product qualification testing (PQT) services with the expansion of its environmental testing capabilities at its Denver, Colorado location and those in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.
Its investment in a new thermal vacuum chamber complements existing thermal testing and bake out capabilities, underlining Element’s ability to deliver technical expertise with market-leading operational performance which is critical to these sectors.
The new capability allows clients to test to extreme temperatures and pressures, from cryogenic temperatures to 150°C, and pressures as low as 1 x10-7 torr. This includes both product qualification testing of components and a range of materials testing (MT) services, including sterilization/decontamination for space applications.
Rick Sluiters, Element’s executive vice president, aerospace, commented, “There is significant demand within the local aerospace market for more extreme testing capabilities. Following this investment, we now have a fully comprehensive set of capabilities in environmental testing demonstrating our commitment to the aerospace and defense supply chain.
“Element’s technical expertise is such that very few organizations are able to provide this type of service, with the requisite level of quality control and project management demanded in the sector.”
Element’s Pacific Northwest locations in Seattle and around Washington state provide a full range of environmental testing capabilities to RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD 810 and ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standards, as well as hold a number of aerospace prime contractor and supply chain approvals.
