The Indian naval LCA-Tejas program had a major boost when the second LCA Naval prototype took to skies from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL).
The naval prototype’s maiden flight lasted for about 35 minutes.
T. Suvarna Raju, chairman of HAL, said that dedicated efforts from a team of engineers from the Indian Aircraft Research and Design Centre for the complex landing gear design, which, he stated, is significantly different from the Indian Air Force version, “made the flight possible”.
