Test laboratory R-Tech Materials has achieved Nadcap accreditation for the testing of non-metallic materials for the aerospace industry. The accreditation covers a range of mechanical tests on composite materials.
Nadcap, previously known as the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program, is required to test materials used in aerospace applications.
R-Tech, which also serves the marine industry, has been accredited by UKAS for the testing of polymer and composite materials for several years. The company is also able to offer laboratory-based materials investigation services, including reverse engineering, failure analysis, product characterization and problem solving.
Dr Tony Franks, managing director of R-Tech Materials, said, “We have invested in the latest testing equipment and software and our experienced staff have worked hard to develop our testing capabilities to achieve this accreditation. We are delighted that this confirms our position as a significant player in the market for testing composite materials.”
Dr Geraint Havard, R-Tech Materials composites manager, said, “The aerospace sector represents some 70% of the composites testing market. We are already speaking to aerospace clients about their requirements, and expect to see significant growth in the next couple of years.”
