Ampex Data Systems, a division of Delta Information Systems, has upgraded and enhanced a key mission recorder for a 4th generation fixed-wing platform under a multimillion-dollar contract.
Ampex, a technology leader and small business innovator in rugged storage and compute solutions for aerospace and defense, announced it was awarded a multimillion dollar contract from a leading government defense agency to design and develop a SWaP-C optimized mission recorder with encrypted crash survivable capabilities for a 4th gen, fast-mover, fixed wing platform.
The contract was received in July 2022 and has an estimated lifetime value of approximately US$20 million which is expected to be delivered over the next year.
As the volume of data captured by airborne platforms continues to rapidly increase, data management and data protection in theater is key to mission success and allowing assurance of mission completion and necessary platform performance data.
“This award is another example of how much our customers trust our engineering, products and support for many critical defense platforms,” said Nick Duran, Ampex vice president and director of sales. “Full spectrum data management and delivering the most innovative, trustworthy and essential technologies is what we do well to support the mission.”
