This is the materialization of five years of relentless work and most of all, the recognition of our credibility as a full aircraft manufacturer with DOA/POA approvals and certification.”
The certification of Integral R marks the culmination of a test campaign, on the ground and in flight which lasted 4 years.
The R is the first aircraft of Aura-Aero’s Integral family and performed its first flight in June 2020 at Toulouse-Francazal airport. Certification flight testing was completed on November 8, after 250 hours of test flights, 100 technical files and over 12,000 pages produced.
With EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) certification secured Aura Aero said it will ramp up serial production of the Integral R, with first deliveries to customers planned for January 2025. Aura Aero aims to deliver some 15 aircraft in 2025.
Integral R has a wood-carbon structure and is equipped with advanced on-board technology for the type of aircraft.
Fabien Raison, co-founder and chief operations officer of Aura-Aero said, “Our customers will be able to access all the data to analyze their flights and will benefit from predictive maintenance to anticipate breakdowns. It is also the first aircraft to be certified in its category, in aerobatics conditions, with a whole aircraft rescue parachute.
During the design phase, we had just one ambition: to make Integral R the most reliable, high-performing and safe training aircraft with aerobatic capability in its category!”
The other aircraft in the Integral family include the Integral S, which is continuing through its flight test campaign, with the aim of certification during the second half of next year. Meanwhile the electric Integral E, performed its first flight on December 3, and should be certified within two years, said Aura Aero.
Aura-Aero is also developing the Electric Regional Aircraft (ERA), an all-electric 19 seater aircraft with a planned 300 mile (480km) range to enter into service in 2027. The company was founded in 2018 and employs around 80 people.
