Engineering design consultancy Assystem Technologies has acquired UK-based consultancy Stirling Dynamics to strengthen its aerospace offering.
Stirling provides engineering services and active control products for commercial and defense customers in the aerospace sector, including Mitsubishi, Airbus and the Indian Air Force. Based in Bristol, the business employs over 90 staff.
Assystem Technologies said that the integration of Stirling extends its capabilities in the areas of landing gear, fuel systems and simulation systems, while Stirling’s existing customers will benefit from the geographical footprint Assystem Technologies has.
Stirling’s existing management structure will continue in place under Assystem Technologies. Olivier Aldrin, CEO of Assystem Technologies, said: “I am delighted to welcome the Stirling team, only a few months after our recent acquisition of SQS.”
Assystem Technologies announced a takeover of German systems and software testing firm SQS through a subsidiary company in December 2017.
Mike Sheehan, Assystem Technologies managing director for the UK, said, “Stirling has an excellent reputation for its innovation in the domain of active control systems and associated analysis that will greatly complement our portfolio of aerospace and marine engineering offers. Having Stirling’s world-class experts joining our global teams is great news for our customers, and we look forward to getting them on board.”
Assystem Technologies employs around 14,000 people in 25 countries and in 2017 achieved a turnover of around one billion euros.
