The validation for the Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland rotorcraft was received following US flight-testing activities that took place in early 2015. The AW189 is designed for longer range, higher capacity requirements for SAR, offshore and corporate helicopter operations.
The AW189 was designed to meet the demand for modern long-range, high-capacity and endurance capabilities. It has become the market leader in its class with over 150 units sold including framework contracts and options. Following EASA certification in early 2014, aircraft have now been delivered to customers in Europe, Asia and the Middle East including Bristow, Weststar Aviation Services, LCI, Gulf Helicopters and Bel Air.
