The Arms and Materials General Board for the Spanish Ministry of Defence has chosen the company Indra to provide an integrated training system for the EC135 helicopter; the project will be worth €14.4m (US$16.2m).
This system comprises a ‘Level D mission simulator’, which reproduces aircraft flight behavior accurately; simulation support systems; and a computer-assisted trainer that will provide support to learning about helicopter systems and flight and maintenance procedures.
The entire system will be implemented in the Spanish Ground Forces Simulation Centre at Base Coronel Maté in Colmenar Viejo, near Madrid.
The training system for the Spanish EC135 will be compatible with the Chinook, Cougar and Tiger simulators previously provided by Indra.
