L3 Commercial Aviation is to supply Air France with an Airbus A350 RealitySeven Full Flight Simulator (FFS).
The simulator is part of a deal which will see L3 provide training for Air France cadet pilots at its recently established European Airline Academy in Ponte de Sor, Portugal.
Robin Glover-Faure, president of Commercial Training Solutions, which is part of L3 Commercial Aviation, said, “We are delighted to expand our relationship with Air France to launch these cadets into their new career and further support Air France’s training with another FFS. Our European Airline Academy will offer an incredible training experience to the cadets, and we look forward to welcoming them to the facility.”
Air France has selected the company to deliver training for approximately 30 cadet pilots per year.
The A350 RealitySeven FFS enables operational synergies with Air France’s latest Boeing 787 RealitySeven FFS device, which commenced training in June 2018. The device will be the first A350 FFS with Standard 1.2.0. This will allow an enhanced level of operation for the user, complete with touchscreen display technology.
Olivier Dulat, flight operations executive vice president at Air France, said, “Our pilots perform their role with the very highest level of flight safety, technical proficiency and a continual concern for delivering an excellent service for passengers. The quality of training being provided as part of this new agreement with L3 will allow us to welcome and maintain more high-quality pilots to Air France and continue to uphold these values.”
