Velocity Composites has been recertified for two quality management standards across its manufacturing sites in the UK and USA.
The company has passed the accreditations for AS9100D and AS9120B across all three of its sites including at Tallassee in Alabama, USA, which has completed its first required recertification since its opening 18 months ago. It also has sites at Burnham and Fareham in the UK.
Velocity Composites supplies carbon fibre and ancillary material kits to aerospace OEMs and suppliers, including Airbus, Boeing, Safran and GKN. According to the company it uses its process knowledge and proprietary software to manage the end-to-end raw material supply chain, reduce the amount of material required by its customers and reduce the associated material waste when making aircraft parts.
AS9100D is a standard for organizations developing or providing aviation, space, and defense products and services, including parts, components, and assemblies. AS9120B is an aerospace industry-specific standard for distributors.
Matt Archer, chief commercial and compliance officer of Velocity Composites said, “The continued certification reinforces our commitment to continually improve our processes and technology to strive for zero defects and sustain an exceptional service for our customers.
“All of our sites are designed to achieve the same high, consistent levels of compliance with specific industry quality approvals which our customers have come to expect.”
